Present Simple 1 (LESSON)

We form the Present Simple like this:

Singular

I walk

you walk

he/she/it walks

Plural

we walk

you walk

they walk

We add -s after he/she/it: I sleep >>> she sleeps, I play >>> he plays

If the verb ends in -ss, -hs, -o, -ch, we add -es after he/she/it: I pass >>> she passes, I push >>> he pushes, I do >>> he does, I catch >>> she catches

If the verb ends in a consonant (b,c,etc) + y, we use -ies after he/she/it: I study >>> she studies, I fly >>> he flies

Look at the following examples of the negative:

I don't eat in the morning.

She doesn't like dancing.

We use the Present Simple:

to talk about things that happen regularly:

He goes to church every Sunday.

to talk about facts:

Drug stores sell medicines.

Cars don't fly.
